We totally understand, it’s frustrating when a deal doesn’t work the way you expected. You find something awesome, click through, and suddenly the price is different or the promo code doesn’t apply. Here’s what’s going on and how to fix it (when possible!).
🛒 Why the Price or Code Might Not Work
The deals posted on Slickdeals come directly from our community members and staff. We don’t control when merchants change prices, end promotions, run out of stock or pull coupon codes.
Here are a few common reasons things might not match up:
The deal has expired: Merchants can end a sale or pull a promo code at any time, even without notice.
Stock sold out: Once inventory runs out, prices often revert to regular pricing.
Promo code not applied: Some deals require a specific code to be entered at checkout. If it’s not added, the discount won’t appear.
Merchant changed the terms: Occasionally, sellers adjust the price or minimum purchase amount after the deal was posted.
💡 How to Make Sure You’re Getting the Deal
Double-check the deal post. Look for any listed promo code or coupon link. It’ll usually appear in bold or near the top of the post.
Enter the promo code correctly. Codes are case-sensitive and sometimes limited to specific items, colors, or sizes.
Check the expiration date or status.
If you see the deal in the Deal Talk forum, that means it’s been marked as expired.
If it’s still in Hot Deals, it should still be active but prices and supply can change quickly.
Try refreshing or checking again later. Occasionally, merchants bring a deal back or restock.
See if others in the thread are still able to get the deal. Sometimes merchants, like amazon, will offer a coupon or item that isn't available for every account. It also may have to do with which warehouse would be shipping to you.
Look to see if it is a YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) or B&M (Brick and Mortar). Some deals may only be available for certain locations or accounts, might be a price mistake or may only be available in stores and not online.
🚨 If a Deal Seems Dead or the Price Changed
If you notice a deal that’s expired or the price no longer matches, you can report it as expired so our QA team can review it.
To do this:
Click the “Report” button on the deal post.
In Classic View: It’s right under where you give a thumbs up or thumbs down on a deal.
On Mobile: It’s right under the original post.
- On Redesign: You'll see a "report" button under the original post. Click that and select expired as your reason.
Our team will take a look and, if confirmed, move it to the Deal Talk forum.
