Reporting (often referred to as Mod Alerting) a thread or comment is the best way to make sure that a Slickdeals Moderator checks into your concerns.
You can use this tool for lots of various reasons, for example:
- letting the moderators know about a potential repost
- letting the moderators know about a post that may be breaking the rules
- asking for help with your own post
- having an expired deal moved back to Hot Deals
- or any other reason that you may want to reach out to a moderator
When reporting a thread or comment, please give as much information as needed for a moderator to be able to handle your request. While sometimes a short and sweet “This seems spammy” report is fine, sometimes it’s best to add more detail, like “This coupon is still working for me, but only if I go to the end of the checkout process”
How to Report a Thread from Desktop Redesign or Mobile Web
In both of these views, you will find a Report button just below the deal details:
After you click Report, you will be presented with a few mod alert options and a description box. Please choose the option that best matches the post that you are reporting and then type in the text box to describe your issue to the moderators.
It is generally best to report the exact post that you are referring to, but if you are unable to do that for any reason, please feel free to mod alert a nearby post and then let the moderator know that you aren’t referring to that exact post, but to another specific post within the thread.
How to Report a Comment from Desktop Redesign, Mobile Web or the Slickdeals app
In all three of these views, you will find an ellipsis (3 dot) menu. Once you click that, you will be presented with the Report Comment option.
After you click Report, you will be presented with the same mod alert options and description box as pictured above.
How to See Your Report Responses
You can click here to see how the moderator closed your most recent Mod Alert, as well as any previous Mod Alert responses.
Depending on the situation, a moderator may also choose to send you a Private Message about the issue with follow-up questions or more information.
Expired Reports go to our Forum QA team and will not receive a response on your Mod Alert response page.
